About Me
Hello, my name is Vic Vijayakumar. How do I say that name, you ask? I don’t. But if you really want to, it’s pronounced vidge-a-yeah-coup-maar. The p is silent in coup, of course. Unless you’re a communist. Are you a dirty communist? Thought not. Anyway– I’m a Software Development Engineer for American Journal Experts, a company based out of Durham, NC.
I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 2005 and have supposedly been working on my Masters thesis in Computer Engineering and Information Assurance, also from Iowa State. As these things go…I’ll let you know when I actually finish the darn thing.
I live with my girlfriend Holly and our Australian Shepherds Gus and Winnie in Raleigh, NC. In my spare time, I love to read (sci-fi, thrillers), watch recorded shows on my DVR (South Park, Futurama, House, In plain sight), go geocaching, play disc golf, ride my motorcycle around town and cook.
I like to think I’m a true nerd. I understand just about every xkcd comic, and I say and do plenty of things that make Holly smack her forehead and shake her head at me. Perhaps this blog can be a place for me to document all of that. I’ve had several blogs in the past, none of which I posted in too regularly. I created themes for all of those. I was huge into design back then– people would ask me to create styles for them. There was a Live Journal, a Crazy Life (LJ clone that I posted in for the last 5 years), two or three iterations of Movable Type (god what a piece of crap), one other Wordpress install and finally this one. Here’s to regular blogging (I hope)!
