hello, world
This isn’t my first blog by any means. I have blogged on and off for a little over 5 years on many different platforms. Live Journal, Crazy Life, Diary Land, and some other systems hosted on my own server. Each time, I just quit writing. No real reasons. I just abruptly stopped. Yet, I wouldn’t call the experiences failures by any means. I can literally see how I’ve matured over the years by skimming through my blog posts from 2002. I cringe and wonder why I was the kind of person I was (I’ll give myself some credit– I was 19) and thank determinism for the person I am now. I used to use emoticons excessively, write crappy sappy poetry, blog about getting wildly drunk off of cheap Vodka (and thus my psychoassociative aversion to Orange Juice now), write about avoiding school work and playing video games instead, etc, etc, etc.
It is said that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. That doesn’t really apply in this case. Our past is what makes us who we are today, but at the same time, I think I can safely lock up those old posts and not ever have to have any of that brought up ever again. This is my fresh start. I was an irresponsible 18 year old undergrad with a crappy job, friends who loved me for who I was but didn’t tell me to cut it out and stop being a dumbass, and a need to party all the time. I’m now a 24 year old with a full-time job, an awesome girlfriend and two adorable dogs. Two completely different people, but at the same time, with the same underlying nerdiness. I present to you the first blog post I ever made:

this is screwed up. my dns server doesn’t wanna work… co-incidentally, this is my first journal entry. what a way to start![]()
thanks to Ryan for helping me with this.
I’m happy to say that there is nothing wrong with my dns server now (knock wood). Running bind instead of Windows 2000 Server might also have something to do with that. Anyway, welcome to my fresh start blog. I promise to write regularly. Really. And nothing too emo.
